What can you do instead of endlessly scrolling?
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Choose an activity where you make a prediction, change something and explain what happened. Educational videos can introduce an idea. A science experiment or a small coding project gives you something to do with it. Taz is your personal STEM simulations engine, for anyone curious about STEM: adults, students and children. It combines questions, interactive 3D science labs and a Maker Studio in a web browser.
Taz is currently open in India and the United States. An adult creates each account, and stays involved when a child uses it. Start with a Taz account
Turn one question into an activity
- Start with a question. Ask yourself, “Would a longer swing move faster or slower?” Write down your prediction before showing an explanation.
- Try the Simple Pendulum lab. In Taz, open Simulations and find Simple Pendulum. Change the string length and compare the time for one swing. Keep the other settings the same.
- Explain the surprise. Ask, “What changed, and what stayed the same?” Then ask Taz a follow-up question together.
- End with something to share. Draw the result or explain it to someone at home. Decide on a stopping point before beginning.
The same routine works away from a screen: compare the shadows of household objects or test which objects a magnet attracts, with an adult choosing safe materials. See more science activities.
Choose the kind of learning you want
| If you want to… | Try this |
|---|---|
| Watch an explanation | Choose one educational video together and pause to ask a question. |
| Find out whether an idea works | Try a Taz 3D science lab, predict first, then compare results. |
| Make something they can change | Remix a game in the Maker Studio and change one rule. |
| Take a screen break | Sketch, build or repeat a safe observation with household materials. |
Taz's experiments and projects offer a different activity from watching reels. We have not measured whether Taz reduces screen time or improves school grades.
Common questions
Is Taz a short-video app like TikTok?
Taz is an interactive STEM learning platform with science labs and tools for making games and projects. Its main learning activities are asking, testing and making. If you specifically want a feed of educational short videos, these activities may be a different format from what you are looking for.
How can we try Taz?

What should I check before starting?
Read the safety features and privacy policy, choose a first activity together and set a stopping point. Taz uses automated checks and parent controls, but AI can be wrong and no filter is perfect.
Labs to start with
- Pendulum: Turn a question about a swing into a prediction you can test.
- Photosynthesis: Follow what a plant needs and explain what changes.
- Rolling race: Predict which shape reaches the bottom of a slope first.
- Moon phases: Use a model to explain a Moon shape you have noticed.
- Probability: Make a prediction about chance and compare it with repeated trials.
